Shocking footage shows sloth bear being rescued from a dry well

This footage shows the moment would-be rescuers dash for cover after an angry sloth bear charges them as they free it from a 35-foot deep dry well.

Forest Department officials in Maharashtra, west India, were called in after the wild sloth bear tumbled into a dry well during a heatwave.

The bear escaped the fall unharmed and kind-hearted rescuers helped lower a tree log into the well, so it could clamber out.
