NYC Descends Into Chaos As Pro-Hamas Dirtbags Vandalize WWI Memorial, Burn Flags, Riot At The Met

On Monday, Central Park became the scene of chaos as anti-Jew protesters targeted a World War I memorial and burned an American flag following clashes with law enforcement. The unrest unfolded as over 1,000 marchers, blocked by police from reaching the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the star-studded Met Gala, vented their frustration. During the commotion, at least one individual set fire to the American flag at the site of the 107th Infantry Memorial. Graffiti reading "Gaza" in bold black letters marred the base of the memorial, while stickers adorned the bronze soldiers with Palestinian flags, demanding an end to perceived injustices. As tensions flared, protesters climbed atop the monument, brandishing Palestinian flags and draping them over the figures of the infantrymen. The disorderly scene near Fifth Avenue and East 67th Street unfolded without a police presence, as law enforcement focused their efforts several blocks north at the Met Gala.

Further acts of vandalism occurred in Central Park, with the Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman bronze statue in Grand Army Plaza also targeted. Graffiti proclaiming "Free Gaza" in red letters was scrawled across the statue's base, and a Palestinian flag was displayed prominently.
