Israeli ATMOS 2000 Wins Race To Be Brazil’s Newest 155MM Howitzer Despite Lula’s “Genocide” Remarks

The Brazilian Army selected Elbit Systems' ATMOS self-propelled howitzer system as the undisputed winner of its VBCOAP 155 SR competition. Among the competitors for the Howitzer deal were the French CAESAR, the Chinese SH-15, and the Slovakian Zuzana-2. The Israeli company is now obligated under the "initial contract" to deliver 36 guns, with the first two units as part of the "Sample Lot" due within 12 months. These vehicles will “undergo technical and operational evaluations in Brazil,” according to a TurDef report.
