PEACE News & Views this week, joint hosts Siir Steve & Kim Cooper sit down for a chat with HighZenHerb founder & Cannabis substitution program warrior Dan Borchardt

Dan is described as a passionate activist, having two disabled brothers who both use cannabis to manage their symptoms. Dan started his company HighZenHerb back in 2014 making candy and a few other items at a lounge in BC.
Dan has seen the results utilizing this plant as a medicine, and backing the concept that high dose edibles not only get people off of hard drugs. he personally witnessed over a half dozen individuals successfully treated using cannabis to replace opioids. So, he formed a team, created products, canvassed for donations and started an arm of the Cannabis Substitution Program in a new location in Surrey BC to reach even more people in need.
Dan didnt stop there. He also became the CEO of a non profit organization called the Magnuson Foundation for community development. The Magnuson Foundation was created so they could collect donations not to be used in cannabis based outreaches for those who want to give to the homeless but do not support the view of “cannabis saves lives”. Even though he disagrees, he knows help is needed from many fronts in order to be effective during this crisis engulfing Vancouver & much of Canada.
Working with limited resources has its challenges. Dan is always in search of donations as well as boots on the ground help for the outreach programs.
