Clear-up starts after Dutch police end pro-Palestinian demo

Workers moved abandoned tents and debris after Dutch riot police ended a pro-Palestinian demonstration at an Amsterdam university early on Tuesday (May 7) detaining some 125 people in sometimes violent clashes, authorities said. In messages posted overnight on social media website X, police said they had to act to stop the event and dismantle tents that had been set up by protesters, who threw stones and fireworks.
