A tribute to the three regiments – the 8th Illinois Cavalry, 12th Illinois Cavalry, and 82nd Illinois Infantry – that represented the Prairie State in the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1st-3rd, 1863

Timestamps:
0:00 - 8th Illinois Cavalry
20:04 - 12th Illinois Cavalry
27:52 - 82nd Illinois Infantry
36:56 - Gettysburg

Each soldier's rank, marital status, and other information is meant to describe his life as of July 1, 1863, when the Battle of Gettysburg began. However, the pictures could come from any point in the soldier's life. I researched these men’s lives to the best of my ability, but I frequently found that various sources provided conflicting information about name spelling, years of life, place of birth, etc. There are many soldiers I left out because I could not confirm that they were present for the Battle of Gettysburg or because I could not find an adequate picture of them.
