16-year-old boy shoots bank security guard with his own gun

CCTV from a bank in São Paulo, Brazil shows the shocking moment a teenage boy pulls a security guard’s gun from his holster before shooting him in the neck with it.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, can be seen walking out of the bank with his mother, when he takes the gun and aims it at the guard, seemingly unprovoked. The guard collapses to the floor as the teenager calmly places the gun on the ground, before hiding behind his mother when confronted by two other armed guards.

When questioned by police, the boy was reportedly unable to explain why he carried out the bizarre attack. According to São Paulo police, the boy’s mother ‘said she believed he had a psychiatric problem, without diagnosis or specialized monitoring, and had an episode.’

The security guard, meanwhile, is in a stable condition and is receiving support and medical care from his employer.
