Growing up my father and other relatives loved the Planet Of The Apes movies. Charlton Heston gave the franchise legitimacy. Tim Burton made a terrible remake in 2001. Initially I couldn't care less when they announced a reboot of this franchise in 2011. Boy was I wrong. This movie was such a pleasant surprise.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a 2011 reboot of the Planet of the Apes film series and its seventh film overall. In the film, Caesar, a chimpanzee is genetically enhanced and raised by William Rodman and goes from living in captivity to eventually leading an ape uprising against humanity.
