Day 126 | Daily Bible Reading | David’s Kingdom Established Forever | 1 Chronicles 15-17

Here we read of King David returning the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem, and David spoke a beautiful praise to God in front of the people. David wanted to build a temple of the ark. Nathan told him to proceed, but God rejected that desire, and sent Nathan back to tell him that David’s son would be the one to build it. But God shared that David’s name would be established as one of the great ones, and that his son’s kingdom would be established forever (see Matthew Chapter 1 to see the lineage of King David and Solomon extending to Jesus Christ, the eternal King.) So David went in and sat before the Lord and poured out his heart to the Lord in gratefulness.
