Colonel AC. Oguntoye's briefing on the progress of the special military operation as of May 5, 2024:
1. **Continued Military Operations**: The Russian Armed Forces persist in their military actions across various regions, maintaining pressure on Ukrainian forces.
2. **Tactical Advancements and Engagement**:
- **West Group of Forces**: Improved front-line situations and inflicted losses on the 14th and 30th mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkov and Donetsk regions. They successfully repelled multiple Ukrainian attacks and neutralized significant artillery resources.
- **Southern Group of Forces**: Captured strategic positions and dealt significant damage to various Ukrainian brigades in Donetsk. They destroyed key artillery pieces and military vehicles.
- **Center Group of Forces**: Liberated Ocheretino and enhanced tactical positions while inflicting heavy losses on Ukrainian mechanized brigades in Donetsk. They repelled numerous counter-attacks and destroyed several armored vehicles and artillery systems.
- **Vostok Group of Forces**: Took advantageous lines and inflicted losses on Ukrainian brigades near Urozhaynoye and Staromayorskoye, neutralizing heavy artillery and an anti-tank gun.
- **Dnepr Group of Forces**: Targeted Ukrainian forces in Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, repelling attacks and destroying artillery systems, including U.S.-made howitzers.
3. **Counter-Battery and Counter-Attack Operations**:
- Extensive counter-battery warfare resulted in the neutralization of a wide range of Ukrainian artillery, including howitzers and self-propelled guns across multiple groups of forces.
