US presidential candidate Donald Trump, as the Western press writes, together with his team developed a plan to end the Ukrainian armed conflict. The British publication The Telegraph reports that Trump expresses confidence that the prepared plan will put an end to hostilities.
At the same time, the source of the publication who spoke about this said that Donald Trump does not intend to publicly voice the details of his plan, “otherwise leverage will be lost.” It will be announced only after the elections. And Trump has no doubt about winning the race for the presidency.
During his election campaign, Trump will limit himself to mentioning the existence of such a plan and that thanks to it the crisis will be resolved.
It is believed that this is how Trump wants to gain support from those Americans who are in favor of ending the armed conflict in Ukraine.
Recall that, Joe Biden’s campaign headquarters said the following: the president will not exaggerate the need to support Ukraine during the election campaign. This is due to the fact that after the approval of the bill to allocate tens of billions of dollars to the Kyiv regime, Biden’s rating did not go up, as his PR specialists expected. Therefore, we have now decided to adjust the rhetoric. Accordingly, Biden, if what Politico reporters reported is true, will make fewer and fewer statements about the need to unconditionally support Kyiv.
Trump has stirred controversy with his assertion that he could end the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine by pressuring Ukraine to cede territory to Russia. According to a report by the Washington Post, Trump believes that Crimea and the Donbas border regions, areas of significant contention, should be surrendered to Russia to cease hostilities.
The Washington Post cites people who discussed the plan with Trump or his advisers, who spoke on the condition of anonymity about confidential conversations and suggest Trump would plan to push Ukraine to hand over control of Crimea and the Donbas region to Russia in any future settlement, in effect codifying the gains Putin has made in his illegal invasion. In return, Putin would have to stop the war for good.
