Part two features more footage from the picnic areas and natural surroundings adjacent to Bigelow Pond in this 516-acre park. This 25-acre pond is the first body of water encountered once you enter the park from its main entrance. There is a 97-acre, much larger and remote body of water, deeper into the Nipmuck State Forest, named Breakneck Pond. However, it requires visitors to walk a hiking trail, the Nipmuck Trail, that begins near the main entrance and travels north and around the entire shoreline of Breakneck Pond. This is clearly seen on the map provided by the ExploreCT website.

Alcohol is prohibited inside the park. All pets must be on a leash no more than 7 feet long. There is no camping or ground fires permitted in the park. Out-of-state visitors will pay a parking fee. According to the CTParks website, out-of-state visitors are required to pay a $10 fee to park on weekdays, and $15 on weekends and holidays. All visitors are required to take their trash with them when they leave.
