This Bread Pudding is one of the easiest dessert recipes and personally my favorite!! What really puts this dessert completely over the top is the sauce…it’s to die for!! Not to mention it’s only made with 3 ingredients- butter sugar and eggs.

Bread pudding

Ingredients
For the bread pudding
1 French bread loaf
1/2 cup raisins (soaked in warm water for 1/2 hour)
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1/3 cup sugar
1 quart half and half
4 eggs, beaten

For the sauce
2 sticks butter
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups sugar

Directions
For the bread pudding
Cut bread into 1 inch pieces and place them into a 9 x 9“ dish or something similar in size.
Sprinkle raisins over the top.
In a large bowl whisk together eggs, melted butter, sugar and half-and-half. Pour over bread and press down making sure everything is soaked. If you have time, let it sit for 30 minutes, you can even prep this the night before and refrigerate. If not you can bake it right away.
Preheat oven to 350° and bake for 50-55
minutes. The top will be golden brown and center should be set.

For the sauce
Melt two sticks of butter over medium low heat.
Add sugar and stir until combined. Remove from heat.
Whisk in beaten eggs. Turn heat back to medium low and continue to cook until sauce has thickened and heated through, about 6-8 minutes. When it’s done the sauce should feel warm/hot to touch. Be careful not to overcook, the eggs in the sauce will curdle. Serve over bread pudding.
