US "Acknowledges" Killing Farmer Instead Of Terrorist in 2023 Syria Strike, Says "Misidentification"

A US investigation found that a drone strike by its forces in Syria on May 3, 2023 killed a farmer instead of an al-Qaeda leader. The Pentagon stated that the drone strike killed, 56-year-old Lutfi Hasan Masto, who was “misidentified” as a senior member of al-Qaeda. The Pentagon said that few details of the Masto investigation would be released, citing the classification of sensitive information.
