Itchy baby elephant enjoys awkward looking body scratch on log

Watching baby elephants in the wild is always a very entertaining experience. With a combination of playfulness and clumsiness, the behavior of baby elephants is sure to put a smile on your face. While watching a herd of elephants in the Kruger National Park, I noticed a mother elephant and her baby standing near a fallen tree. They looked covered in mud and the little elephant looked like it found the right sized rubbing post in the fallen tree log. Suddenly the baby elephant climbed over the log with its front legs, and that was when the most amusing part started. Getting into all kinds of funny and awkward looking positions, the itchy little elephant managed to enjoy a thorough and soothing body scratch. This was so hilarious to watch and very cute to see how the baby elephant made sure it was relieved from all the itchy places on the hard-to-reach parts of its body. In the end the baby elephant looked very satisfied and moved off with its mother.
