It’s Only Scary Because It’s New | 1st AKC Dog Show With Cavalier

We entered Kila our male, black and tan Cavalier King Charles Spaniel into our very first dog show in Scottsdale Arizona that was held after Thanksgiving 2023.

An AKC dog show can seem confusing, daunting and nerve wracking but the best way to tackle it is by taking it one thing at a time and not being afraid to ask questions!

Whether you have a show dog or are hoping to get in the sport, it doesn’t have to be scary. Yes, it’s a new experience but have fun with it and consider it a win if you and your dog are enjoying yourselves.

Few people will go in and win right off the bat, so just try to observe, gain skills and celebrate even the smallest victories. Perfect practice makes perfect - don’t be discouraged and just be the best team you can be with your dog 🌺
