US President Joe Biden accused China, India, Japan and Russia of “xenophobia” and blamed it for their “stalling” economy. He also argued that migration has been good for the growth of America’s economy. "One of the reasons why our economy's growing is because of you and many others. Why? Because we welcome immigrants," Biden said. The International Monetary Fund forecast in April that some countries would see its growth decelerate in 2024 from the year prior. Biden has condemned the anti-immigrant rhetoric of his Republican opponent Donald Trump.
