The event is taking in place in Manitoba, because that is the centre of our nation, near a spiritually significant place once known as Turtle Mountain and it is taking place at the time of the summer solstice, a time of looking forward, a time of promise, and time for new ideas and a coming together. For thousands of years indigenous peoples have recognized this time as one of the most spiritually significant times of the year (The Great Festival of Light).

In Indigenous culture, the Great Festival of Light is a cherished tale that highlights the significance of summer's arrival. As the season unfolds and nature blossoms anew, it marks a time of rejoicing for both the creatures of the forest and humanity alike. Together, they celebrate the longest day of the year, embracing the beauty and vitality of the world around them. So we come together to celebrate our coming rebirth in as a strong and free nation.
