Mass arrests at Columbia University as NYPD raids pro-Palestinian encampment

Dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters were arrested at Columbia University after New York police, responding to a request from University President Minouche Shafik, entered the campus with hundreds of officers to raid a Gaza solidarity encampment inside a university building.

The police action follows a directive to clear buildings and maintain a presence on campus to prevent the re-establishment of encampments.
