Eugene Robertson, 40, was convicted on several counts, including eight counts of attempted murder and two counts of reckless endangerment, in relation to “a 2022 crime spree,” the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office said in an April 18 news release. Robertson ordered food at a Burger King in Aurora, CO at about 11 p.m. Oct. 17, 2022, but when he pulled up to the drive-thru he tried to “pay for his meal with drugs,” according to prosecutors. The Burger King employee declined the payment, and “Robertson pulled out a gun and pointed it at the employee before driving away,” prosecutors said. Afterward, a worker at a 7-Eleven across the street called 911 after Robertson “pointed a gun at his head.” “This defendant endangered countless lives that night by recklessly firing a gun,” Senior Deputy District Attorney Taylor McCreary said in the release. “It’s a miracle no one was seriously hurt or killed.” Robertson is facing up to 400 years at sentencing.
