Detroit Police Officer charged with possessing firearm while intoxicated

A Detroit Police Officer has been charged with being in possession of firearms while under the influence. Jerold Blanding was on restricted duty while under investigation for the Feb. 13, 2017 fatal shooting of 19-year-old Raynard Burton, when officers responded to an injury car accident on Jan. 14 and encountered Blanding, who was off-duty at the time and appeared to be intoxicated.
