Guy Jumps Snowmobile Off House And Crashes Hard

There is something about anything that looks like a ramp that calls out for someone, somewhere to attempt to jump something off it. Snow structures are no different.

Winter. A snowmobile. A house covered in snow. An obvious combination?

The idea of snowmobiles has probably been around for centuries, but what we consider the modern snowmobile did not really get its start until the early 1900s. Between 1911 and 1916 a number of different patents were approved between Canada and the United States. Of course, once cars became more widespread, individuals also started modifiying Ford Model Ts with tracks and skis following Ray Muscott’s Canadian motor sleigh patent. That design featured tracks in the rear of the car and skis in the front. Even in the beginning snowmobiles were powered by small gasoline engines. Early models were two-stroke engines that could hit up to 10 horsepower. Modern day engines range from two- and four-stroke with some getting over 200 horsepower. They still take gas though. I wonder if they could make a good electric one now?

The man in this video is attempting to jump his snowmobile off of a snow-submerged cabin? Shed? It’s hard to tell. The building is nearly completely covered, but from what we can tell it does not appear that big and does look a bit rundown. I think it might be an abandoned barn that you sometimes see on farmland. The guy’s jump is actually pretty good. He gets some decent distance and lands alright, but the jolt from the landing knocks him and he disappears into the snow.
