Today, we read of King Hezekiah, a righteous king, who was told by Isaiah that he was about to die. He wept before the Lord, who spared his life, and proved he’d do it with a nature-defying miracle. Then the king showed all of his treasures to the Babylonians; and Isaiah came back to tell him that everything would go to Babylon. Wiped clean. But first Manassah reigned (wickedly) and a young boy of eight, Josiah, became king. His scribe found a copy of the law, and Josiah was distraught about the sins of his ancestors, and went about making things right. But the prophecy of the future is bleak, due to the wickedness of the people in abandoning God.
