Day 117 | Daily Bible Reading | The Bad Idea of Taunting God | 2 Kings 18-19

ezekiah is a righteous king in Judah, besieged by the king of Assyria. The men who come to make war against them taunt the men of the city, and mock Hezekiah’s reliance on God, lumping the LORD in with the ‘gods’ of other countries they’d overrun. Hezekiah takes it to the Lord through Isaiah, then lays out the letter demanding submission before the Lord in his temple. The Lord promised Hezekiah that he could just stand back and watch what happened, and that he would be able to begin planting and growing crops again. So… God stepped in. Read along to see what happened.
