Goodyear launches a new EV tire – but are EV tires worth it

Introducing the ElectricDrive 2 EV Tire

Goodyear has launched the ElectricDrive 2, a second-gen all-season EV tire,

designed with features that EV drivers want most.

The tire includes SoundComfort Technology foam inserts for a quiet ride,

an asymmetric tread pattern for improved wet road performance,

and long-lasting tread compounds for extended tire life.

The ElectricDrive 2 boasts an aerodynamic sidewall to lower drag,

improved rolling resistance for enhanced efficiency and range,

and is made of at least 50% sustainable materials, including soybean oil, rice husk ash silica, and sustainably sourced natural rubber.

Available in 17 sizes, the ElectricDrive 2 fits popular EV models like Tesla, Ford, Chevy, and Audi.

Goodyear has confirmed the tire is in stock now, with availability in the US starting in May.

Are EV tires worth it? It depends on the performance you seek.

EV tires can maximize range and provide a quieter cabin,
