All Things Spiritual - The Engrafted Word

James 1:21 instructs us to receive the truth and teachings of God's Holy Word with meekness of heart, describing it as "the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls." God's Holy Word is the truthful Word, revealing the truth about the Lord our God and our selves, righteousness, sin, heaven, hell, our condemnation as wicked sinners, God's gift of eternal salvation, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and His sacrificial death on the cross for us sinners. It also reveals the truth of the gospel and the truth for godliness.

God's Holy Word is the regenerating Word, drawing us to repentance of our sinfulness and faith in Christ our Savior. The gospel of God's Word is the very power of God unto salvation for believers, implanting the incorruptible seed of new spiritual life into our hearts when we believe on Christ for salvation from sin.
