US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has met withChina's President Xi Jinping in Beijing, as part ofefforts to shore up relations between the two countries.

But, while the China-US relationship is beginning tostabilise, but it is still being tested by "negativefactors", Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

Blinken's visit to China comes days after a law thatwould force Chinese-owned TikTok to sell the videoapp or be banned in the US was passed.

It is also expected that US officials will raise China'ssupport for Russia during Blinken's visit, with reportsstating that Washington is prepared to act againstChinese companies that have been helping retool andresupply Russia's defence industry, aiding them in theirinvasion of Ukraine.
