The Glastonbury Dragons appear twice a year, marking two of the important seasonal celebrations of the year. They appear at Beltane on 1 May celebrating the spring and the coming summer, where the Red Dragon of summer will challenge the White Dragon of winter for supremacy of the season, and
Samhain on 1 November marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or "darker half" of the year.
