The origins of the Council on Foreign Relations begins at 3755 Broadway. The American Geographical Society was the headquarters and the Inquiry were led by Walter Lippmann, Isaiah Bowman, and Cary Coolidge. Three founding, lifetime members of the CFR. Lippmann today considered "the father of modern journalism".
