The transitional council, officially installed the following day, will oversee the formation of a new government. In the interim, Economy Minister Michel Patrick Boisvert has been appointed as interim prime minister.

The council, tasked with setting the agenda for a new cabinet and organizing provisional electoral processes, aims to address Haiti’s widespread insecurity exacerbated by gang violence, Al-Jazeera reported.
