Biden Signs Bill, TikTok Must Divest from Chinese Parent Company Within Nine Months

04/24/2024 Reuters: U.S. President Joe Biden signed a bill into law that bans TikTok in the United States if its Chinese owner, ByteDance, fails to divest the popular short video app. ByteDance will have 270 days to sell TikTok. TikTok is expected to sue the U.S. government.
The company's lawyers are also expected to seek a temporary injunction from the court to halt the forced divestiture process.
