We will also take a look at what is the 1040 window. The 1040 window is a rectangular area of North Africa, the Middle East and Asia between 10 degrees north and 40 degrees north latitude. This area is often called “The Resistant Belt” because many of these nations are resistant to the Gospel message and evangelism. The three major faiths in this region are: Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists. Also many of these people ascribe to no faith at all. Most of the people living in this region are still waiting to hear the gospel for the first time. The nations include China, India, Turkey, Iran, Sudan, Egypt, Japan, and North Korea. The 10-40 window has 50% of the world population. And 86% percent of Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindus don’t even know a Christian person. Only 3% of the world missionaries are focused on this region. Only 2% of America ‘s donations to missions is going to this region. Approximately 5.33 billion individuals are residing in the 10/40 Window. And 3.28 billion people in the this region are considered an unreached people group for the gospel. This means approximately 62% of the individuals in the 10/40 Window are unreached.

Two example of this are regions I've traveled too recently. I am currently in Taipia, Taiwan right now one of the nations in the 10-40 window. According to statistics, some 3.9 percent of the Taiwan's 23.78 million people are Christian. However, some 62 percent of the Taiwanese population is working class people, of which only 0.5 percent people are Christian. I hope you can see Taiwan is a nation that the church needs to reach. I also went to Turkey recently as well. 95% of the this nation with 85 million people are Muslim. A small percentage of their population is Christian. Christians often face political persecution in Turkey.
