The Parousia - Rapture or Second Coming?

Another important term in Biblical eschatology that is often either overlooked or not sharply defined is the Greek word "Parousia," normally translated as "coming" in our English Bibles. Since this term is used so frequently in passages that refer to the end-times, it is crucial that we have a solid understanding of it. The only way we can do that is by recognizing how the Bible actually uses with term, and therefore how we must understand it. Does it apply to the Rapture or the Second Coming?
