Identifying an American Traitor

In America, Felons are forever "branded" well after their debt to society has been paid. Often their past follows them through life, limiting their choices of employment and earning potential. We argue that traitors to our nation are far more dangerous than a majority of felons that have done the time, for their crimes. Traitors should never be trusted again. Why is it that their crimes do not follow them through life ?
