Meet SAVANNAH POLICE DEPARTMENT officer LUIS MANUEL ESQUINA. Luis was fired and decertified in the state of Georgia. But you have to know why because it's just too ridiculous!
Our story begins with Luis being questioned by a supervisor about a police ordered doctors visit that he was supposed to attend earlier in the day but didn't and wanted hospital staff to lie to police and tell them he was there when he wasn't. The supervisor already has the truth and he wants to see if Luis will be truthful. Unfortunately Luis is a cop and knows only to NOT be honest. This is a paradox between cops and a rare scenario where a cop copsplains to another cop.

I reviewed the BWC footage of Sergeant Petit-Frere's video and observed the following. Sergeant Romel Petit-Frere made contact with Officer Esquina at the St. Joseph's/ Candler Urgent Care Center in Pooler. While at this location he asked to speak with one the employees who was later identified as Briana Dingle. Once they were inside the building, Sergeant Petit-Frere asked Ms. Dingle had Officer Esquina been ot their office earlier ni the day and she shook her head no. Then on her own accord, she proceeded to tell Sergeant Petit-Frere that Officer Esquina had asked one of her colleagues (Later determined to be CANDACE BEAVER) to lie on his behalf to his superiors about being there earlier in the day. She allowed him to photograph her .I D. before leaving the building to document that he had spoken with her. He then walked outside to speak with Officer Esquina about being there earlier. Sergeant Petit-Frere made no further inquiries about Officer Esquina to Ms. Dingle nor did he request any medical information regarding the visit.

Thursday, April 30th: Officer Esquina reported injuring his knee during an arrest but failed to fill out a required injury report form as instructed.
Sunday, May 3rd: Esquina informed Sgt. Smith he would be off on Monday, May 4th, citing his knee, but admitted to not completing the injury report when questioned by Sgt. Spence.
Monday, May 4th: Esquina informed Sgt. Smith he'd report to work the next day and admitted forgetting to complete the injury report.
Tuesday, May 5th: Esquina worked without knee incident.
Thursday, May 7th: Esquina notified of taking a sick day for Friday, May 8th.
Friday, May 8th: Esquina claimed to have visited a doctor for a knee sprain but couldn't provide details or paperwork, later admitting to not visiting the clinic but calling a doctor in New York.
