Who was Margaret Sanger? Birth control activist and sex educator (and eugenicist), Sanger popularized the term "birth control", and established organizations that evolved into the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. In 1914, she met Havelock Ellis and was heavily influenced by his "liberation" theories about women, and his studies on human sexuality. Ellis was in an "open marriage" with the bisexual Edith Lees, and was impotent until the age of 60 when he discovered that he could become aroused by the sight of a woman urinating. These are the kinds of people who have shaped our views on sexuality and "family planning".
