Fetterman Hammers ‘A—hole’ Anti-Israel Protesters, Slams Own Party for Response to Iranian Attack: ‘Crazy’
Fetterman: “...so we can bring the hostages home. You know, I don’t think the situation in Gaza can get better for anybody until we can just say, hey, we have to send them all home. And why can’t Hamas provide any kind of proof of life? I was on the record by saying that first, the attack from Iran was kind of — it was just a demonstration where they felt like, after Israel wasted a couple Iranian generals — and that was great — but now they had to put something out. And they don’t want to escalate. They understand that they can’t afford to take on Israel and certainly not us. So, they had that. It was all put down, and then Israel responded with something to send the similar kind of message where it’s like we react, but we’re not going to escalate. And I think we’re at that place now where everyone understands. (...) I am not going to be in a position to tell Israel what they should do. That’s their choice. And I certainly hope None of this escalates and turns into more widespread. But I will say is that I’m always going to choose — I would want to follow Israel on that. That’s our key ally, our special relationship. And you’re surrounded by nations that underwrite terrorism and all of those things. And I was appalled that there were members of our party, Democrats, that can’t even condemn Iran. That’s crazy. (...) Well, I can’t speak for anyone in the party or about Israel. But I can say I’ve been a very confirmed and consistent voice in standing with Israel throughout all of this, because we can’t ever forget Hamas started this and they have chosen to do the most terrible, awful, unspeakable things. And now they have the ability, they have the power to decide today, send everyone home and surrender, and all of the trauma, the death, and everything in Gaza can end and you can get back on the path of peace and a two-state solution. (...) It’s completely reasonable to want a ceasefire or to have a different view on that. Absolutely. That’s a democracy. But it is not appropriate or illegal or helpful to advance your argument if you show up in a Starbucks with a bullhorn and start yelling at people. And that doesn’t make you noble. It just makes you an assh*le. It’s very American to protest and to do that in the appropriate way. Then I absolutely support that. I’m not suggesting that you have to agree with my view. But it’s just saying, it doesn’t really allow you to disrupt lives and to inflict those kinds of damages on people that are just trying to get on with their lives.”
