Out Of The Fog (1941)

Directed by Anatole Litvak and based on the play "The Gentle People" by Irwin Shaw, the story unfolds with a sense of impending danger lurking within the fog that envelops the harbor.

The film centers around George, a hardened yet principled fisherman played by John Garfield, who is struggling to make an honest living amidst the corruption and criminality of the docks. When George and his fellow fisherman become targets of racketeers led by the sinister gangster Harold (played by Charles Trowbridge), tensions rise and loyalties are tested.
