The US House of Representatives has finally approved a $61bn military aid package to help Ukraine fight Russia.

The controversial package had been blocked by Republicans who believe the US is spending too much money on helping Ukraine fight Russia, many of which are part of the Donald Trump campaign.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the US support as "vital" and hailed American democracy.
