Having given instructions of how to prepare and approach God, in Chapter 20, 50 days after the crossing of the Red Sea God makes His presence known on Mount Sinai to Moses and to the people. The same God that causes the mountains to quake, trumpets to sound, and a voice that thunders in Heaven, is the same God who came down to us as fully man to die for our sins.
