What we can do to help the Freedom Flotilla

The Freedom Flotilla is due to set sail on Wednesday from Turkey with 5500 tonnes of humanitarian food aid for the victims of the Gaza Genocide.

In this excerpt from Cinephobia Radio #034, renowned FBI Whistleblower, anti-war activist and one of the Time Magazine Persons of the Year in 2002, Coleen Rowley discusses a few of the things all of us can to do to help ensure the safety and success of this mission.

This includes donating to the Flotilla, calling and writing to your elected representatives, media outlets, favourite podcasts and sharing the progress of the voyage on all your social media accounts. The more eyeballs we can get on this, the more chance it has to prevail and the less likely something disastrous will occur, like what happened to the Mavi Marmara in 2010 where ten of the activists involved were shot dead by the IDF.

I wrote the following email to Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister, Melanie Joly. Feel free to copy and paste and paraphrase this to your heart's content and send it wherever you see fit, but understand one important principle: while the media and all the cultural products of the consumer culture have tried to convince you (regrettably very successfully) that such actions are meaningless, I assure you that they're not, that public pressure campaigns are highly effective and when successfully targeted at many of the worms and weasels and puppeticians who inhabit their temporary feudal seats of custodial management on behalf of the Ruling Degenerates, the second they feel our collective pressure, they invariably run for the hills, with very few exceptions.

There are a number of Canadians participating in this action so your attention to this matter is urgently needed. In 2010, the IDF raided the Freedom Flotilla in International Waters and killed ten of the activists. Obviously, if such a thing were to happen again, given all the tensions surrounding this issue, it would be a political disaster for Israel but also for Canada too, especially if any of our citizens on board are harmed in any way.

I’m assuming, given your role as Canada’s Foreign Minister, that you have direct access to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel. If so, please encourage them to, first of all, allow this much-needed humanitarian aid to make its way to the victims of the Gaza Genocide and secondly, to ensure that no matter what, that none of the participants are harmed in the process. And I would encourage you to make these efforts public so you have the receipts in the event that something terrible happens. This will help you politically survive a potential disaster if it’s clear that you tried to do something concrete ahead of time to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

And in case they don’t seem to understand the seriousness of what I’m talking about, and it’s possible they won't given how they've just slaughtered seven aid workers from the World Central Kitchen, please impress upon the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel that if anyharm comes to any of the passengers on board, especially to any of the internationally renowned peace activists and journalists who will be participating in this action, that it would be a global political disaster for Israel where even many of its former allies in the west would have to distance themselves further from their unhinged, illegal and inhuman genocidal campaign against the indigenous people of Palestine.

15,000 children have been slaughtered to date and regardless of what anyone thinks about Oct 7th and Hamas, these children are completely innocent and their wilful destruction is nothing less than a war crime, a crime against humanity and a wilful act of genocide, the crime of all crimes.

Israel is skating on extremely thin ice here and it’s highly possible they’re so delusional and insane, they don’t even realize it themselves.

Please be the voice of reason.
