Israel-US: Netanyahu vows to reject any USsanctions on Israeli army | BBC News

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowedto reject any sanctions on the country's military, afterreports that the US plans to cut aid to one unit.

It comes after the Axios news site reported that the USwould target Israel's Netzah Yehuda battalion overalleged human rights violations in the occupied West Bank.

The BBC understands any move would come under aUS ban on aid to foreign units credibly implicated inviolations. To date, the US - Israel's main ally - hasnever suspended aid to an IDF unit before.

"I will fight it with all my strength," Prime Minister Netanyahu said on Sunday.
