Ukraine's President Zelensky said his country had a"chance of victory" after the US House ofRepresentatives finally approved billions of dollars innew US military aid to help combat Russia's invasion.

The much-delayed measure had vocal opponents inCongress and it took a fragile bipartisan deal to get the £49bn package through.

Republicans said more than a third would be dedicatedto replenishing weapons and ammunition. It's likely to

include air defence systems, mid to long-rangemissiles and artillery shells. It is unclear when it will arrive.

The package will now go to the Senate, which isexpected to pass it within the next few days beforePresident Joe Biden signs it into law.

Ukraine, which relies on Western weapons, desperatelyneeds the aid as it struggles to contain Russiantroops, who have been making steady advances in recent weeks.
