A rally against the military plans of the United States, NATO, and the EU has been taking place near the Greek Ministry of National Defense in Athens, following the Marathon Peace March that ended in the evening. The rally started in the famous town of Marathon, where several hundred people gathered, and the number of participants grew to thousands by the time they reached the venue.

"Neither land nor water for murderers of nations. Give money for healthcare and education, not for NATO headquarters," the people are chanting.
