There is some jubilation in the pro-Ukrainian camp given the US House of Representatives passage of an aid bill to Ukraine, Israel & Taiwan, $60 Billion of which is allotted to Ukraine. But when you dig deeper, you realise that most of that aid does not even go to Ukraine, but goes to American Defence contractors to create more jobs. only $14 billion is carded to be sent to the frontline in east Ukraine to attempt to slow down Russia's advance. But an even deeper look shows that according to the Guardian, all of the $14 billion aid comes not from presidential drawdowns of existing stocks, but form security assistance initiative, which means the money must first go to US Defence contractors to buy or build weapons to then send to Ukraine. Despite this fact, some un-named US officials claim that once the bill is passed in the Senate this Tuesday, that aid can be sent to Ukraine quickly drawing down from US and European Stockpiles. This seems contradictory as first it has been admitted several times that both the US and the EU is short on 155mm artillery shells and second, the aid isn't carded to come from drawdowns. In any event, most of that aid will be use dup in air defences which are very expenses, as we saw recently when Israel and its allies spent 1.3 billion in one day shooting down 30 year old Iranian missiles. So even if this aid can reach Ukraine soon, it will be minuscule and largely insignificant to change the fire battlefield situation in Ukraine. In short, this package is purely for morale.
