The 1950s gave organized crime and organized labor a gift neither wanted - publicity, attention, exposure, and questions. Lots of questions. At the beginning of the decade, Cosa Nostra and the Teamsters were riding a high horse. By the end of the decade, both were staggered. They needed relief.
