Quokka Selifie - Unique Animal on Rottnest Island. Adorable Quokka on Rottnest Island. Quokka’s are a cute animal native to Rottnest Island which is off the coast of Western Australia, Australia. The Quokka was recently made famous by the Roger Federer selfie on Rottnest Island in 2018 when he was in Western Australia for the Hopman Cup tennis competition. Roger Federer was flown by helicopter to Rottnest Island for a promotional tour and as part of that took a selfie with a Quokka which was shared in his twitter and Instagram to his 7 million followers. Similarly, Margot Robbie has also had a a famous quokka selfie go viral in recent weeks, gaining nearly 2,000,000 likes on her Instagram page. In this cute animal video, an adorable Quokka approaches and stands up on his legs looking like he is greeting the man calling him his buddy. There is also a mother and offspring cuddling up together and what looks like them sharing an adorable kiss. The video ends with a funny selfie in which it looks like the Quokka is smiling and posing for the camera. On Rottnest Island, the Quokka’s are so friendly that they often approach tourists. It is illegal however to feed or touch a Quokka, and if caught can come with significant fines. The reason for this is that human food can hurt their digestive system. They are one of the most unique, curious animals and hence tourists in particular are drawn to the island to have their Quokka experience. Rottnest Island is a very protected environment in order to protect the Quokka’s as they are only located on the island and nowhere else in abundance in the world.
