South Florida First Responders UNITED with Tim Roberto for Awareness!

This video follows Tim Roberto, veteran Marine and certified counselor on his 3rd annual journey to Surfside FL with a mission to bring a heightened awareness of the alarming rates of PTSD and Suicide among veteran, law enforcement officers and firefighters.

It shows the exceptional support of Greenacers (FL) Fire Rescue and the many Law Enforcement Officers and Firefighters from Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties along the route from West Palm Beach to Miami Florida for 6 days in April of 2024.

Surfside Florida was chosen as the destination of this year's walk due to the incredibly sudden and tragic collapse where 98 souls lost their lives in June of 2021.

STOMPING OUT THE STIGMA - THE WHY

Military veteran suicide rates and first responder suicide rates in Florida are alarmingly high, with Palm Beach County leading Florida and the nation in first responder suicide.

Professionals such as firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency dispatchers, and active (or veteran) military personnel are all susceptible to mental traumas throughout their careers. These traumas can cause PTSD and, regrettably, suicide.
