Cheeky Bunny Introduces Own Rules During A Hopping Event

A funny footage has emerged of a stubborn bunny rabbit taking part in an obstacle race, playing by her own terms. During a race, rabbits are required to follow a path and remove every bar obstacle on their way in order to get to the finish point.

In this heartwarming footage, filmed on March 31, 2018, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, we see Brandywine, the English Angora rabbit, performing during the Easter event at the Calgary Zoo through the Canadian Rabbit Hopping Club. However, ever since the beginning of the race, she decided to make her own rules on how to do the hopping event! Cuteness overload!

Bunnies are adorable enough when they're just sitting there twitching their tiny noses or lapping water up from their little bottles. However, when they're hopping over brightly colored fences like tiny, long-eared horses while their enthusiastic trainers cheer from the sidelines, you realize why bunny hopping videos go viral almost instantly.

In addition, competition jumping tests bunnies' speed and agility as they race down the course, dreaming of winning the big trophy or at least of getting treats when they finish. Footage shows a precious English Angora rabbit and her trainer going down the track, removing the colored bar obstacles, one at a time, while trying to finish the race with flying colors!

In order to get your pet rabbit ready for such a venture, allow it to get comfortable wearing a harness and walk on a variety of surfaces. Rabbits prefer to lead rather than be led and tend to dart left or right when handlers interrupt their field of vision. When jumps are introduced, trainers should progress slowly and work with them to go over the jumps by placing their hand under the front legs. The rabbit is actually supposed to remove the bars and go over the low bars. Practice makes perfect so eventually, they will catch on to what you would like them to do! Patience people!

Have you ever participated in a race or a competition with your pet? How did that event turn out?
