The Star Theater (1902 Original Black & White Film)
Witness the historic demolition of the renowned Star Theatre in this time-lapse footage from 1902. Over the span of approximately thirty days, the camera captures the gradual dismantling of this iconic landmark. Originally known as "Wallack's Theatre" when it opened in 1861, the theater was later renamed the "Star" in 1883. Renowned for its exceptional productions, the Star Theatre hosted performances by esteemed actors and actresses, including the legendary Ellen Terry. Notably, it was also where the celebrated English actor Henry Irving made his debut stage appearance in America.
